Scotland says no to independence

With the announced result at Fife, where 114 148 voted Yes and 139 788 No, the majority of the votes are in.  More than 50% of the voters has voted NO to becoming independent from Britain.  Early estimates of the exact percentage of no votes vary from 53 to 56 percent. More than 80 percent of the eligible voters voted in the poll.
