“The ANC’s policies of cadre deployment and affirmative action both of which are key components of their ideology and practices are not only hampering economic growth and preventing the essential maintenance of infrastructure necessary for proper service delivery, but is now beginning to cost lives.” Says, Rev Theunis Botha, Leader of the Christian Democratic Party, (CDP).
“These policies are directly responsible for the deterioration of municipalities nationwide, who in their rush for racial transformation and jobs for the politically connected have appointed many managers with no professional skills. Add to this nepotism, corruption, and a lack of accountability and you have a sure formula for disaster.
“The latest disclosures that a number of babies have died as a result of drinking water apparently being contaminated by raw sewage spilling into the water supply, has highlighted the seriousness of the situation. The minister of Water Affairs in a recent television interview admitted as much when she blamed incompetence for the deteriorating situation in our country.
“The CDP again calls on the ANC government to abolish these policies of cadre deployment and affirmative action before they prove to be the cause of the greatest disaster this country has ever experienced.”
