NORTHERN CAPE – The ongoing investigations by Hawks Upington Serious Organised Crime Investigation yielded good results in the arrest of a second suspect aged 34 on Friday. The arrest was in connection with the cash in transit robbery that took place on Tuesday, 06 April 2021 at Kalahari mall, Upington.
Meanwhile, a joint operation conducted by the Hawks Upington Serious Organised Crime Investigation,Crime intelligence Northern Cape , Tactical Response Team Free State,Free State Surveillance team and Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Free State resulted in the arrest of a third suspect aged 48 on Saturday for the same matter.
An undisclosed amount of money was recovered in Free State.
Both suspects are expected to appear before Upington Magistrate court on Monday, 12 April 2021.
Investigation is still ongoing, further arrests have not been ruled out.
