FREE STATE – Teboho Sitole (34) appeared before the Welkom Regional Court on Wednesday, 05 May 2021 where he was convicted and sentenced for dealing in gold bearing material and defeating the ends of justice.
The conviction originates from the incident which took place on the 11 July 2014 where Sitole approached a police agent and robbed him of gold bearing material. The matter was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team in Bloemfontein. He appeared in court on several occasions culminating in his recent conviction.
Sitole was convicted and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment which is suspended for 5 years on condition that he reimburse the state an amount of R26000 over a period of 6 months.
