Pretoria – A police officer attached to the Presidential Protection Services and a civilian woman were injured in an accident which occurred last night at about 18:30 on the M4 in Kwazulu-Natal.
The presidential convoy was travelling towards the King Shaka International Airport when a woman travelling in the opposite direction collided with the lead vehicle of the convoy. Three other members only sustained minor injuries while the 37-year-old sergeant and the woman were transported to hospital for treatment.
The management of the SAPS and the Presidency wishes both the police officer and the injured woman a speedy recovery.
