NORTH WEST – Andries Greyvenstein (37) who is a major role player in the gold refining industry in Gauteng along with his co-accused, Quinton Hendricks (38), Morne Botha (50) and Johan van der Linde (53) were convicted at the Palm Ridge Regional Court on Wednesday for illegal dealing and possession of unwrought gold.
The conviction stems from investigations into the illegal dealings by the four accused. A probe by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation led to their arrest after being linked to numerous incidents of dealing and possession of unwrought gold. Approximately R800 000 in cash was seized from their possession along with gold bearing material .
The four accused will make an appearance before the Palm Ridge Regional Court on 08 March 2021 for sentencing proceedings.
