WESTERN CAPE –The Hawks Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) together with Crime Intelligence and Anti-Gang Unit in Cape Town uncovered a fully operational hydroponic dagga lab in Montague Gardens.
The team arrested the two suspects today aged 48 and 41at a premises unit 2, Railway Park, Montague Gardens after uncovering the laboratory.

The team is reported to have swiftly reacted to information that narcotics were being kept at the house in Montague Gardens. A disruptive operation was put in place wherein two suspects were seen leaving the Unit and loading a black container into a vehicle.

They were immediately stopped and police requested to conduct a vehicle search. Dagga was allegedly found concealed in the black container inside the vehicle.

The suspects were arrested and a subsequent search at the premises revealed several black tents containing over 700 cannabis plants in pots worth an estimated street value of R1 million.

The suspects are due to appear at Cape town Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 07 December 2020.
