NORTH WEST – Emmanuel Pule Lorekang (43) made a brief appearance before the Mahikeng Magistrate’s Court this morning following his arrest on Thursday.
He was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation for allegedly conspiring to defraud ABSA account holders with his co-accused, Isaac Legae (27) who was also employed by ABSA bank in Mmabatho.
Its alleged that the pair transferred approximately R700 000 from ABSA Bank account holders into their bank accounts without the consent of the account holders.
Legae was arrested on 05 November 2020. Meanwhile Lorekang was released on R2000 bail and the matter was postponed to 12 May 2021 for further investigation.
