GAUTENG – Hawks’ Serious Corruption in Johannesburg had on Friday, 07 April 2017 conducted an entrapment operation which yielded positive results and nabbed a 67-year-old attorney for corruption in Parktown.
The attorney offered Hawks members a R50 000 bribe money so that they could to stop investigations against his clients. The man was allegedly representing five (5) Health Department employees who were being investigated for allegedly selling jobs within the department for a price ranging between R5000 and R6000 in 2016.
The suspect, Godfrey Sipho Sibiya (67) appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 10 April 2017 on charges of corruption. He was granted R2000 bail and the case was postponed to 18 May 2017 for further investigation
