LIMPOPO – Nelamo Admoso Etore (40) was found guilty and sentenced for possession of illicit cigarettes by the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 14 May 2021.
On 08 May 2020, the Police in Zebediela received a tip off about a suspected vehicle that was loaded with illicit cigarettes. The information was followed up and the accused was caught busy off-loading boxes of illicit cigarettes in one of the spaza shops in the area to the value of R280 000-00.
The case was transferred to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation for further probe. The accused made numerous court appearances until he was found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of R20 000-00 or forty (40) months imprisonment.
