Pretoria – The Acting Head of the Directorate For Priority Crimes Investigation (HAWKS) Major General Mthandazo Ntlemeza has set up a task team to investigate the murder of Warrant Officer Petrus Johannes Holz on Wednesday morning.

A 50-year-old Holz, previously attached to Hawks’ Commercial Crime Unit, was driving to work when his car apparently hit man-made debris on the Cape Town’s N2 highway. Stopping to inspect the vehicle, he was then attacked by two suspects. Preliminary investigations indicate that he was stabbed with a blunt object and some of personal items were stolen.

The brutal murder of Warrant Officer Holz prompted Major General Ntlemeza to assemble a Task Team to bring the killer (s) to book and has vowed not to leave any stone unturned to bring justice to the family of the deceased dedicated cop.

“One brave member will not be going home to his loved ones tonight, and for that, there is no justification. Officers who serve and protect our communities risk their own safety for ours every single day and they deserve the communities respect and gratitude every single day. I would like to urge the community of Cape Town to work very close with the police so that those responsible for this terrible act are captured. ” said Ntlemeza.

Ntlemeza has extended his deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of the member.
