Pretoria – The Hawks in Klerksdorp have on Thursday arrested a police lieutenant for allegedly selling her official laptop to a financial institution. It is alleged that the 40-year-old officer, stationed at Klerksdorp Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit went to a cash loan and used her state-issued laptop to as a security for her to get R1 100.
With the officer failing to pay back a total amount of R1 900, the cash loan then sold the laptop to an unknown person to recover their money, as per their agreement with the officer. The officer has been charged with theft and she will appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
