Wednesday, 04 November 2015, Johannesburg, South Africa. – Wheelchair Tennis South Africa received the biggest recognition at the South African Sports Awards nominees announcement on Tuesday morning.
The world no.3 quad ace Lucas Sithole could claim awards in two categories this year, Sithole was nominated for Sportsman of the year with a disability alongside wheelchair racer and handcyclist Ernst van Dyk and Pieter du Preez. The former US Open champion was also one of the five nominees for the People’s Choice of the Year category, where he faces stiff competition from AB de Villiers, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Chad le Clos and Wayde van Niekerk.

Kgothatso Montjane, the country’s top women’s player received a nomination for the Sportswoman of the year with a disability. The superstar will be eyeing her second after taking the award in the same category at the Gauteng Sports awards last month.
The country’s top junior, ranked no.2 globally Nokwande Hlongwane was one of the athletes to complete the nomination list. Hlongwane was nominated for the Newcomer of the year alongside Jayde Andrew Julius and Kagiso Rabada.
The nomination of the coach, Holger Losch, for the Coach of the Year, and Karen Losch for the Administrator of the year completed Wheelchair Tennis South Africa’s magnificent year.
