Pretoria – The Hawks in Free State have arrested three more suspects for the murder of Samuel Tjexa and Seun Tangasha and who allegedly entered a farm in Parys, pointed the firearm at the owner and demanded R20 000.

The arrest of the three brings the total number of suspects arrested to ten, including a police captain. The suspects had accused the two deceased men of entering Farm Biesiebult in Parys, which is owned by Lodewikus van der Westhuizen, pointed him with firearm and demanded R20 000. It is alleged that van der Westhuizen was hit on the forehead and arm with a firearm butt but managed to wrestle the attackers, got inside the house and pressed a panic button.

Fellow farm owners allegedly came to his rescue and a search for the alleged attackers ensued until the farmers found Tjexa and Tangasha approximately 8km away from van der Westhuizen’s farm. The two were subsequently beaten up and later died in hospital. The three suspects, aged 18, 19 and 22 years will appear before the Parys Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
