Pretoria – A man from Thailand and two women from China were arrested by the Hawks and Brooklyn SAPS members for running a brothel in Pretoria on Wednesday evening. The Hawks, who were acting on information from a whistle blower, stormed the house in Brooklyn and rescued six Thai ladies aged between 23 and 38.
The man, who is suspected to be the owner of the brothel and the ladies are allegedly responsible for the recruitment of the women. During the raid police seized tablets suspected to be drugs, which have been taken for testing, receipt books and suspected fake passports which have been sent to the Department of Home Affairs for verification. The six ladies have been placed at a place of safety pending investigations.
The three suspects aged between 49 and 45, will appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Friday, facing charges of keeping/running a brothel.
