FREE STATE – A 46-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 29 July 2021 where he will be facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and extortion.
He was arrested on Tuesday, 27 July 2021 in Bloemfontein by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team in Bloemfontein. The arrest originates from an incident which took place on Friday, 23 July 2021 where the victim was notified by an unknown person that he was hired to murder him. The hired assassin instead asked for R5000 cash in order to divulge details of the people who had hired him.
The matter was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team resulting in the suspect being arrested after he received the agreed amount at the Mimosa mall.
