Pretoria – The former Polokwane businessman Jacques Nell who was convicted of defrauding ABSA bank of millions of rand was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment wholly suspended for 5 years and he was ordered to pay back R1 million to the bank by the magistrate at the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court Wednesday.
Nell, the Director at DATA Master Office Automation at the time, submitted fraudulent documents to the bank to secure finance for DoTech machines, making a misrepresentation that the machines were new at the time, while they were over six years old. He was ordered to pay back the R1 million with immediate effect.
