LIMPOPO – The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigations’ continuous probe into alleged fraud and theft involving SAPS fuel cards resulted in the arrest of yet another suspect aged 27 in Groblersdal area on Wednesday, 24 March 2021.

It is alleged that the suspects who is a petrol attendant at a local filling station colluded with his colleagues and Groblersdal police officials to unlawfully fill up fuel into their private vehicles and purchase unauthorised items at the filling station using the SAPS fleet cards on numerous occasions.

Ten (10) accused persons who include six Groblersdal police officials (two sergeants and 4 constables ), two petrol attendants and two cashiers have since been arrested during the Hawks takedown operation in February this year and they were all released on bail.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Groblersdal Magistrate Court on Friday to face theft and fraud charges.
