MPUMALANGA: Mphikelele Alpheus Ngubeni (35) was remanded in custody by the Balfour Magistrate Court today , Thursday 11 February 2021 after he was arrested with Warrant of Arrest for dealing and possession of drugs.
The suspect was arrested during a clampdown operation where search and seizure was conducted by members of Secunda Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Middelburg Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Nelspruit Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Mpumalanga Tactical Response Team, DPCI Communication, Secunda Crime Intelligence, Secunda, Standerton and Ermelo K9 as well as Secunda Serious Commercial Crime Investigation.
The clampdown operation followed an intelligence driven investigation where court driven evidence was obtained against the accused during the investigation which started in 2018.The suspect was brought before Balfour Magistrates’ court after he was arrested. Before the arrest, his house was searched and undisclosed amount of money, bank statements and cell phones were seized for further investigation.
The case was postponed to the 22 February 2021 for formal bail application.
