Pretoria – A bank employee who was responsible for loading money into the ATMs has been arrested by the Hawks in Groblersdal on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old suspect who have been with the bank for a while would only load half of the cash and kept the rest for himself, replacing the other half with fake bank notes.
The bank eventually discovered his shenanigans after he had already stolen an amount of R2 217 260.00 and the suspect has been on the run until his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Hawks in conjunction with Groblersdal police. The suspect will appear before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
