A Johannesburg man accused of impersonating a Hawks Major General who can be bribed to make investigation dockets disappear, was denied bail during his first appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s court yesterday.
Gabriel Paul, 45, was arrested last week Friday following a two months investigation after a victim alerted the Hawks of a Major General Moodley who was demanding cash to close a case and make it disappear.
He apparently contacted his victim and informed him of a criminal investigation against him and of an imminent warrant of arrest. If the victim is willing to pay cash, he will make the docket disappear or quash the charges and arrest.
Paul was charged with extortion and impersonating a police official. He remains in custody and will make his next appearance in the same court on 03 June 2019.
