Yesterday, 13 April 2021 Rudolph Sekolane (36) appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court for fraud and theft after he was arrested by the Hawks’ Commercial Crime Investigation team in Middelburg. He was released on a R1500 bail.

It is alleged that in August 2019, the accused submitted fraudulent documents to be financed to purchase a vehicle from the garage in Ermelo. The loan was approved and he managed to get a Honda Ballade valued at R337 000. He failed to repay the instalments and the bank investigators discovered that the submitted pay slip as well as a bank statement were fraudulent. The matter was then reported to the Hawks for further handling.

Sekolane was arrested yesterday and the case was postponed to 20 April 2021 at the Mbombela Commercial Crimes Court for further investigation.
