GAUTENG – A 44 year old man is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court facing charges of possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R600 000 on Wednesday, 31 March.
Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation based in Germiston received intelligence regarding suspicious drug related activities at a residential premises in Sandton.
Investigation team kept surveillance on the positively identified address and pounced on the suspect allegedly packing drugs. A search warrant was executed and police found 2.4kg of suspected ephedrine and 1.3kg of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R600 000 collectively.
Police seized a R100 000 in cash which was concealed in a travelling luggage. Investigation continues and more cannot be ruled out.
