KWAZULU-NATAL – The Hawks’ Durban Organised Crime unit assisted by National Intervention Unit, K9 and Crime Intelligence arrested two suspects for the alleged murder of Captain Dumisani Mhlanzi who was stationed at KwaMaphumulo Police Station.
Captain Mhlanzi was shot and killed at KwaMaphumulo area on 23 February 2018. The suspects made off with his service pistol. Yesterday a joint operation led to the arrest of the two suspects whilst three others lost their lives in a shootout with the police. The firearm suspected to be that of Captain Mhlanzi’s and two others were confiscated.
The two suspects aged 25 and 39 for are expected to appear in the KwaMaphumulo Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 9 March 2018.
