Three males aged between the ages of 37 and 42 will appear in the Somerset West Magistrate court today (Friday, 2021-06-04) on charges relating to possession of hijacked vehicles and stolen property.
On 02 June 2021 members attached Bellville Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit was contacted by Macassar police to assist at a chop shop where they already arrested a 37 year old man on a truck hijacking case. The members took over the investigation, which led them to arrest two more suspects age 40 and 42 on Thursday, 03 June 2021, at a chop shop in Buttercup Street, Macassar. Members found six vehicles worth more than R1 080 000. 00, reported stolen or hijacked, stored on the premises.
Western Cape acting provincial commissioner , Major General Patekile lauded the members for their diligence.
