Fifth seeded South African Minette Van Vreden of The Strand in Cape Town upset top seed Maxine Bateman also of South Africa (Umhlali, Kwa-Zulu Natal) 6-1 6-2 to win the girls singles title of the ITF Wanderers international junior tournament in Johannesburg on Friday at the Wanderers Sporting Club.

South African fourth seed, Sipho Montsi won through to the boys singles final of the ITF Wanderers international junior tournament being played at the Wanderers Sporting Club in Johannesburg. Montsi of Pretoria beat sixth seed Philip Henning of Bloemfontein 6-7 (4) 6-2 6-0 in the semi-finals on Thursday. Montsi will now play fellow South African, Bertus Kruger, the fourth seed, in Saturday’s final.
Third seeded South African, Bertus Kruger of Johannesburg won through to the boys singles final of the ITF Wanderers international junior tournament being played at the Wanderers Sporting Club in Johannesburg. Kruger upset top seed Joshua Howard-Tripp of Boksburg of Gauteng East 6-1 3-6 6-2 in the semi-finals on Thursday. Kruger will now play fellow South African, Sipho Montsi, the fourth seed, in Saturday’s final.
