GAUTENG – A 29 year old pastor, Tumelo Christopher Mukheti, appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday for allegedly being behind a R2 million investment scam.

Mukheti allegedly lured his church members in Kliptown, Soweto, to invest a non-refundable R1500 each into his investment scheme, Yahwe, between 2017 and 2018 that their investments would yield a 14% interest return.

It was after the investors attempted to withdraw their dividends that hey later realised that Yahwe Investment Scheme offices had abruptly closed its operations. Mukheti had allegedly disappeared with the monies.

Mukheti was arrested last week Friday at the Kopfontein boarder gate on his arrival from Lesotho after he was flagged by authorities. The matter is postponed to 08 April 2020 for further investigation. Mukheti was granted bail of R3000.
