IFP: MNAMBITHI MUNICIPALITY MUST BE BLAMED FOR POOR SERVICE DELIVERY

The IFP believes that the Mnambithi Municipality in KwaZulu Natal should
take the blame for poor service delivery which has resulted in water
shortages at the Department of Education offices in Ladysmith.

“Reports allege that it has been three months now since the offices were
closed due to water shortages but nothing has happened to solve this crisis.
We need to know what the Department of Education is doing to solve this
problem. How are employees expected to perform their allotted duties if
there is no water,” said IFP KZN Education, Mrs Thembeni
KaMadlopha-Mthethwa, MPL.

“There is an urgent need to investigate this complaints levelled against
Mnambithi Municipality by the community as they are forced to travel long
distances to seek educational help due to no service at eMnambithi. This is
not acceptable. Urgent intervention is necessary and someone must be held
accountable for this situation,” continued KaMadlopha-Mthethwa.

“The IFP calls on the KwaZulu Natal MEC for Education, Peggy Nkonyeni and
Mnambithi Municipality to urgently come up with an amicable solution to
solve this crisis,” she concluded.
