Soon after he was granted a R5 000 bail by the Wolmaransstad Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for allegedly defrauding the Maquas-Hill Municipality of R540 000, Windy Judas Mahlangu (46), the Chief Traffic Officer at the same municipality was rearrested for another fraud case.
The Balfour police executed the warrant of arrest they had against Mahlangu few moments after he stepped out of the court building. He is currently behind bars and will be appearing in the Balfour Magistrate’s Court, Mpumalanga on Friday.
On the 30th September 2015 Mahlangu will be back at the Wolmaransstad Magistrate’s Court so that he could be linked with his co-accused, Mr Kobus Jordaan, who is still out on R500 bail.
Mahlangu will also be in the dock on 14 January 2016 for another fraud case in Siyabuswa, also in Mpumalanga.
His Wolmaransstad case has been postponed to 16 November 2015 to allow for further police investigations.
