KWAZULU-NATAL – A 22 year old suspect is expected to appear at the Umbumbulu Magistrate Court today on two charges of alleged murder.
The suspect was arrested by an integrated team compromising of the Hawks Durban Organised Crime, Crime Intelligence and the National Intervention Unit at Wybank area near Pinetown in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It is alleged that the suspects was involved in the murder of Warrant Officer Clement Fikani Mkhize. Mkhize was off duty when he was attacked at home in Ezigeni Reserve, Umbumbulu, on 11 August 2018 and later succumbed to his injuries at the local hospital.
He is also linked to the alleged murder and robbery of Sergeant Njabulo Linda in June this year. Linda was attacked at Malukazi and his service pistol was also stolen. Four suspects Siyabonga Mkhize (22) Zwelithini Mkhize (29), Mlungisi Ndlovu (25) and Siyanda Ngcongo (21) were arrested in July this year and the suspect is expected to join them on 30 August 2018 at the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
