Celebrating Woman’s day with the Nursing staff. We also have to have some “de-stressing and de-briefing time” with our staff, says Neil. We work in an environment with lots of emotional stress and we also feel it.

The staff are “real people with real emotions” We often cry with people, we also feel sad for their loss or what has happened to them, says Neil. So mostly on a Friday morning, after our IDT meeting, we organise some “time out” for the staff – before going out to their patients. Often a church group, or family members or a group of people undertake to come and spoil our staff with some eats, tea and cake, and a gift, and that is wonderful way to make the staff feel “they are still needed, and doing a great job – in a huge area – from Isipingo to Hibberdene, says Sr Sue Van Rijsbergen, Nursing Manager next to Neil. We appreciate and salute all the Woman on Woman’s day. Be Blessed.
