DURBAN: 11 June 2021– The wide spread of illegal firearms have left many families in pain of losing their loved ones. Some are paralysed due to the people who possession illegal firearms.
The police officers in the KwaZulu-Natal province are making sure that all those who possess illegal firearms are brought to book. From 1 May to 31 May 2021, the police managed to recover a total of 94 illegal firearms, such as 77 pistols, eight rifles, four shotguns as well as five home-made firearms.
An assortment of 326 rounds of ammunition were also recovered during the operations. A total of 99 suspects were arrested across the province for being in illegal possession of firearms. The suspects were arrested at the different districts. All the arrested suspects have appeared at their respective magistrates’ court in the province.
