Pretoria: 24 November 2016: The acting National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane and a delegation from the SAPS will visit the Kolonade Mall in Montana, Pretoria on Friday morning, 25 November 2016.
Police officials will also be officially deployed at the mall and at other malls and strategic areas which forms part of the Back-to-Basics approach to improve visibility, enhance policing and curb various crimes which tends to spike during the festive season.
The visits to shopping centres, malls and complexes will be an ongoing campaign, leading towards the festive season with the highlight on combined efforts by all role-players to ensure the safety of shoppers during this time.
The SAPS will also closely engage with the community as part of raising awareness and educating the public.
