Monday, 30 November 2015, Johannesburg, South Africa. – Wheelchair Tennis South Africa has confirmed entries for six top wheelchair tennis stars for this week’s Mauritius Open, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures event to be played in Belle Mare at Long Beach Hotel in Mauritius from 1-4 December 2015.
Women’s singles country’s No 2 and former world no.1 junior Mariska Venter and Thando Hlatswayo are among the six players and will represent the country at the Futures event that has attracted players as far as Reunion Island, Australia, and Ireland. Venter and Hlatswayo will carry the flag for South Africa in the women’s event in the absence of the country’s top ace Kgothatso Montjane who will be at the NEC Masters in London.
In the men’s line-up are South African number two Leon Els of Potchefstroom who won the recent Bloem Open in October and the country’s no.3 ranked men’s player, Patrick Selepe, who will be the country’s best hope in the men’s singles.
Alwande Skhosana and Nokwande Hlongwane, the country’s top junior players also made their way to the Futures event and will take to the courts to solidify their positions in the world rankings.
