WESTERN CAPE – A 29 year old suspect will appear at Khayelitsha Magistrate Court on Monday, 09 November 2020, facing a charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions.
The suspect was arrested on Friday by Hawks’ National Priority Violent Crimes Team together with flying squad members. The team swiftly acted on information received about the alleged firearms kept in a house in Dibana street, Harare.
A search and seizure operation was put in motion, subsequently four (4) 9mm pistols and one (1) R5 magazine with ammunitions hidden in a room were uncovered. The suspect was arrested and the seized firearms will be subjected to ballistic examination to assertion whether they not used in the commission of crime.
