WESTERN CAPE- Five suspects aged between 43 and 61 will appear in the Bellville Serious Commercial Crimes Court on Friday, 22 January 2021.
The suspects including four company owners, an accountant and three juristic persons (entities) were served with summons for allegedly defrauding South African Revenue Services (SARS) of almost R1-million.
The suspects were traced and summoned by the Hawks task team in Western Cape province following an intensive investigation that indicated that the suspects allegedly committed fraud by misrepresentation through submitting VAT returns with false statements to claim refunds.
