After a well-deserved break with some players returning from international waters the Itec Knights are ready for an action packed domestic season which will start in full swing when they host Namibia from 4-10 October 2021 in 5 pre-season T20 matches that will take place in a secure bio-bubble at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.

Johan Muller CEO of Cricket Namibia commented: “We are very excited to tour to Mangaung. The Knights is a very respected team in the South African domestic structures and has strong player’s base. This tour forms part of our T20 World Cup preparation and is therefor critical that we play against strong opposition and on different surfaces. We want to thank Johan van Heerden and his team for allowing us this opportunity. It is further important for us to continue our relationships with South African teams. The recent visit by the Titans to Namibia and the series against the Knights are testament to that. We are looking forward to play at their great venue and belief that these matches will also be good preparation for their upcoming T20 competition.”

Allan Donald Head Coach for the Itec Knights added: “Namibia is a very young spirited team with talented players. Pierre de Bruyn and Elbie Morkel have done an exceptional job positioning them to the ICC T20 World Cup. We look forward hosting Namibia with five very competitive 20-over games. We will also welcome back Jacques Snyman and Pite van Biljon from their overseas cricket, with a special come-back of Rilee Rossouw who will play for the all new orange side. These matches will be fantastic preparation for the coming Domestic T20 Knock-out competition taking place at Mangaung Oval from 28 September 2021.”

In association with OFM and Cricket Namibia we also look forward to launch our new season with many new sponsors when Cricket Free State and the Itec Knights host their annual golf day on the 9th of September 2021.

Nick Efstathiou CEO of the Central Media Group comments: “It is with pleasure that OFM is the headline sponsor of a special golf day. This day is needed during this pandemic. Anything we can do to uplift, we will do. Welcome to the Namibian cricket side. We hope they enjoy the golf.”

We encourage our supporters to come and support the Knights and sponsors at the annual OFM Itec Knights Golf Day taking place at Bloemfontein Golf Club on the 9th of September 2021. Players, sponsors and supporters can look forward to an eventful day on the green.
