FREE STATE – Two suspects aged 32 and 45 were arrested yesterday, 27 October 2021 in Senekal, Free State province and today, 28 October 2021in Witbank, Mpumalanga Province by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team based in Free State for selling illegal pre-paid electricity.
This is an ongoing project driven investigation carried out by the Hawks in Free State in concert with Eskom Investigators. ‘Ghost vending’ involves the illegal sales and purchases of electricity. The suspects are expected to appear before the Fochville Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, 29 October 2021 where they will join their 30 co-accused.
