NORTHERN CAPE – The Mothibistad Regional Court has sentenced 32-year-old Kesaobaka Vincent Amon to 15 years direct imprisonment on Wednesday, 07 April 2021 for robbery with aggravating circumstances.
In July 2018, a local businessman and his wife were accosted by the accused at gunpoint and robbed of R600 000 in cash at Seoding village in Kuruman. A massive manhunt was launched by then Kuruman Trio Task Team and the accused was arrested two weeks thereafter.
The matter was assigned to the Kuruman based team of Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation for further investigation. An intensive investigation by the team resulted in the successful conviction of the accused.
