DURBAN: 11 June 2021- Ntuzuma Regional Court have sentenced Lindokuhle Mthiyane (26) and Thulasizwe Zwane (30) to 15 years imprisonment each for crime they had committed.
The two were sentenced on 31 May 2021 for robbery and for possession of firearm unlicensed. On 16 April 2020, at 05:15, two victims were walking along Ingome road when they were approached by the suspects. At a gunpoint they were robbed of their belongings including cell phones. KwaMashu police swiftly responded and complainants directed police officers, the house where suspects ran into.
During the search, two suspects were positively identified and they were placed under arrested and the third suspect managed to escape. police also recovered one unlicensed firearm from the suspects and also the stolen property was recovered. The suspects made several times in court until they were sentenced.
