Nichole Michelle King, a 44-year-old American fugitive who was arrested last week by the INTERPOL members for extradition was remanded in custody when she appeared before the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

The magistrate postponed King’s case to 19 September 2016 to allow the state to obtain extradition documents from the authorities in the USA.

King, who was awaiting sentencing after she was found guilty on three counts of theft and embezzlement of funds from her employer, fled the country and found a hiding place in South Africa.

In June this year the authorities in USA requested the INTERPOL unit to arrest and extradite King. The fugitive was arrested at her rental house in Brakpan, Gauteng where she stayed with her South African husband.
